Vital Pulp Therapy

Vital Pulp Therapy

This treatment

is applied in cases where decay or trauma in a permanent tooth has not caused irreversible damage to the pulp. Symptoms, if present, are usually mild, and the goal is to preserve a healthy, living pulp. In this minimally invasive technique, the infected portion of the tooth tissue is removed, and the remaining structure is covered with special biocompatible materials, mainly bioceramics. The tooth is then monitored regularly, and success rates are high. Even in cases of failure, conventional endodontic treatment can still be performed, allowing the tooth to be preserved. In permanent teeth of children with immature roots, this technique is particularly important as it allows further root development.

What is root canal treatment?

Root canal treatment is the procedure during which the infected or dead pulp is removed from the inside of the tooth. The root canals are then carefully cleaned, disinfected, and sealed to prevent any future infection.

The treatment is performed under local anesthesia and is completely painless, while also providing immediate relief from pain.

Root canal treatment is completed in one or more appointments, depending on the complexity of the case. It includes cleaning the infected pulp and filling the root canals, aiming for long-term preservation of the tooth.
